Blissestraße underground station

The U-Bahn station Blissestraße is a station on the U7 line of the Berlin U-Bahn . The name goes back to the Blisse family, after whom the Blissestraße is named. The station is located on Berliner Straße in the center of Wilmersdorfer , was opened on January 29, 1971 and is part of the first northwest extension of the U7. The station, which is referred to as Bli in the BVG station directory , has an escalator and an elevator. The station was designed by Rainer G. Rümmler and has an eye-catching sound-absorbing ceiling structure. The wall tiling was renewed in the 2000s .

Originally, the train station was to be rebuilt to be barrier-free and two elevators installed by 2016 . Ultimately, a solution was found that only requires an elevator that directly connects the platform and street level. The elevator went into operation on November 1, 2018. The cost of expanding the station to make it accessible was three million euros. In addition, a new platform covering made of granite slabs with a guidance system for the blind was laid and the internal stairs were adapted and redesigned.

In 2019 the western exit received a new portal above the staircase.

At the underground station you can change from the U7 line to the BVG bus lines 101, 104, 249 and 310 .
