The zwickauer damm is a station of the Berlin U-Bahn - U7 . It was opened on January 2, 1970 as part of the extension to the Zwickauer Damm and is 629 meters from the Wutzkyallee underground station and 1103 meters from the Rudow underground station . The station is located in the Gropiusstadt district , in the BVG station directory this station has the abbreviation Zd .

The interior of the station was designed by the architect Rainer G. Rümmler and has a similar architectural style to the last two stations, Wutzkyallee and Lipschitzallee . The station has a central platform with a staircase in the middle, the walls of which are made of bricks . The walls of the station are light colored and are interrupted by a solid white strip on which the station name is applied. The central supports are dark gray to black, the ceilings and platform are gray.

When it opened, Zwickauer Damm station was the terminus of the U7, until the line was extended to Rudow station on June 1, 1972 around two and a half years later.

At the end of 2018, the station, along with twelve other stations, was placed under a preservation order as a witness to the West Berlin subway construction in the 1960s and 1970s .

Since January 22, 2020, the station has been barrier-free with an elevator , the costs amounted to 1.6 million euros.
