The University of Ioannina (Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων, Panepistimio Ioanninon ) is a state-owned Greek campus university on a modern 850- hectare campus, six kilometers south of the northern Greek city of Ioannina . The Dourouti Monastery from the 18th century is also part of the campus.
Since 2001 the campus has housed the Biomedical Research Institute of the Greek research center FORTH .
The university is a member of the network of Balkan universities (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro).
