The University of Macedonia ( Greek Πανεπιστημίο Μακεδονίας ) is a state, economic and social science university in the Macedonian capital of Thessaloniki in northern Greece . The university emerged in 1991 from the Thessaloniki Industrial University (Greek: Ανώτατη Βιομηχανική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης Anotati Viomichaniki Scholi Thessalonikis ) and today consists of 10 faculties. The university is a member of the network of Balkan universities .

Faculties

Originally the university had two faculties and later four more. In September 1998 two further faculties were added to the university, those for Balkan Studies / Oriental Studies / Slavonic Studies and Musicology / Art, before the Faculties of Technology Management, on the Naoussa Campus , Marketing and Transactions, which is on the Edessa campus , in 2004 .
