The University of the Peloponnese ( Greek Πανεπιστήμιο Πελοποννήσου , also University of the Peloponnese ) is a state university in Greece with headquarters in Tripoli and faculties in Kalamata , Corinth , Nafplio and Sparta . The university was founded in 2000 by presidential decree and was established until 2002. Teaching began on September 20, 2002.

There are five faculties, each located in the main towns of the prefectures of the Peloponnese region , which were abolished in 2011 :
