Uroš Bjelogrlić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Урош Бјелогрлић ; * April 22, 1996 ) is a Serbian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHK Red Star Belgrade since the beginning of 2017 . He plays with the club in the International Hockey League and the Serbian Ice Hockey League .

Career

Uroš Bjelogrlić began his career as a hockey player at KHK Red Star Belgrade , for whom he first played in the Hungarian U20 league. In 2011 he moved to the Újpesti TE in Budapest and took part with the team in both the U18 and U20 leagues of Hungary. In the 2012/13 season he also played in the Hungarian-Romanian MOL league . From 2013 to 2015 he played for the local competitor MAC Budapest in the highest junior classes in Austria and Hungary. He then left the Hungarian capital and returned to Red Star Belgrade. With the club he won the Serbian championship title in 2016 . He then moved to HK Belgrade in the multinational MOL League, but at the beginning of 2017 he returned to the Red Star. Since the beginning of the 2017 season he has been playing with the club in the International Hockey League .

International

Bjelogrlić took part in the junior division for Serbia at the U18 World Championships in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 , when he was the top scorer and best assist provider of the tournament and was also voted the best player of his team, as well as the U20 World Championships in 2013 , 2014 and 2016 when he was together with the Spaniard Oriol Rubio the second best preparer behind whose compatriot Norbert Rokaly was, each in Division II. In 2014 he was the team captain of the U18 selection and in 2016 the U20 selection of the Serbs.

In the men's division, Bjelogrlić played for the Serbian team for the first time in the qualifying tournaments for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in November 2015 in Valdemoro, Spain, and in February 2016 in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy . While the Serbs were able to win the first tournament through victories over Iceland , China and Spain , they had to recognize the superiority of hosts Italy , Great Britain and the Netherlands in the next round and were bottom of the group. He made his first World Championship appearance at the 2016 World Championship in Division II. He also played in Division II in 2017 and 2018 .
