Vápenky (German Wapenka ) is a district of the municipality Nová Lhota in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of Nová Lhota and belongs to the Okres Hodonín .
geography
Vápenky is located in the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area in the White Carpathians . The scattered settlement extends below the confluence of the Kamenný potok for five kilometers along the upper reaches of the Velička . The border with Slovakia runs two kilometers south . In the northeast rises the Lesná (696 m), east of the Mechnáč (679 m) and U Bětina Javora (827 m), in the southeast the Velká Javořina (970 m) and Durda (842 m), south of the Kašpariskův Vrch (777 m) ) and Psí vršek (477 m), in the southwest the Zbytky (404 m) and northwest the Háj (573 m).
Neighboring towns are Boršice u Blatnice and Horní Němčí in the north, Korytná and Strání in the north-east, Mlýnky, Květná and Šance in the east, Súš in the south-east, Topolecká and Jazviny in the south, Nové Pole, Nová Lhota and Javorník in the south-west, Suchovéskýný Mýný Minsk, Zámečný and Velká in the west and Suchov in the northwest.
history
Vápenky was built at the end of the 18th century on the border between the Uherský Ostroh and Strážnice estates as a workers' settlement for a lime works belonging to the Květná glassworks. In the 19th century, further small settlements formed along the river at the mills.
After the abolition of patrimonial , the corridors of Vápenky were divided between the communities of Nová Lhota in the Göding district administration and Strání in the Hradisch district administration. Uherskohradišťské Vápenky belonged to Strání and the mill settlements to Nová Lhota and Suchov . 1961 Uherskohradišťské Vápenky was raised under the name Vápenky to the district of Strání. On November 26, 1971 Vápenky was umgemeindet to Nová Lhota and assigned to the district several mill settlements. Vápenky had 33 inhabitants in 1991; in the 2001 census, only 15 people lived in the 15 houses. Because of the preserved historic workers' houses and farms, Vápenky was declared a rural monument protection area.
