Wera Lapko ( Belarusian Вера Лапко ; born September 29, 1998 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian tennis player .

Career

Lapko started playing tennis when she was five, and she prefers to play on clay courts. So far she has won six singles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit .

In March 2014, she played her first $ 10,000 tournament in Antalya , where she survived the qualification and then lost her first-round game to Lina Gjorcheska . Three months later she was already in the semi-finals of the $ 10,000 tournament in her hometown Minsk . In late November 2014 she reached the quarter-finals in a $ 25,000 tournament in Minsk. In March 2015, she won her first individual title in Sharm el-Sheikh . In November she moved into the semifinals in another $ 25,000 tournament in Minsk, which brought her to 534th place in the world rankings at the end of December ; in June 2017 it improved to position 238.

In 2015 , Lapko was nominated for the Belarusian Fed Cup team for the first time . Against Georgia , Bulgaria and Portugal she was used in doubles and with Aljaksandra Sasnowitsch she was able to decide all three games for Belarus.

In 2016 Lapko won the Australian Open women's junior competition .
