criticism

In the past, the bank had won new customers several times through cheap and lucrative products, which were discontinued after a while. Existing customers were informed at short notice that their banking products would no longer be offered at the given conditions, with a note that accounts and savings deposits would be continued at worse conditions, unless the customer objects. The United Volksbank was particularly known in the region for offering a free online current account called Giro Online Plus . At the end of 2013, customers were informed that the free online account will no longer be offered from 2014 and that not only a basic fee will be due for the current account from 2014, but also a comparatively high amount for each individual booking item. Until the end of 2013, the Vereinigte Volksbank Maingau also offered a savings account, the interest rate of which is based on the performance of the German share index . Here, too, the customer was informed at short notice that the savings product would no longer be continued and that if they did not object to another savings product, their savings would be continued at less favorable terms.

public relations

Since its foundation, the VVB has shaped not only the economic but also the social and cultural development of the region, for example through sponsorship, as a partner of the clubs or with the stars of sport .
