coat of arms

Coat of arms of the former administrative association

Blazon : "In silver, diagonally divided by blue wavy bars, above a leafy green bunch of grapes, below a green disc, sprinkled with a silver disc, three silver arcs and silver dots."

The symbolism of the coat of arms is based on the name "Unstruttal" and includes a blue wave bar as a reference to the Unstrut. Since viticulture and the related industry was and is an essential feature of the region around Freyburg, a leafy grape was added to the coat of arms. Based on the most important archaeological finds of the present, the Nebra sky disk is also included in a stylized way. In order not to violate applicable copyright law, the sky disc is artistically abstracted and depicted in an alienated color and is also only referred to as a "disc" in the blazon.

The coat of arms was designed in 2006 by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .
