Veysel (2019)

Veysel Gelin (born January 3, 1984 in Essen ) is a German rapper and actor . He was under contract with the Azzlackz von Haftbefehl label until 2015 ; In 2017 he founded his own label Bela Boyz.

biography

Veysel grew up as the son of zaza - Kurdish parents from Bingöl in Turkey in the Altendorf district of Essen . As a teenager he discovered hip-hop for himself, especially the rapper 2Pac he named as a musical influence. He decided to make music himself. In August 2009 there was an argument in Essen, as a result of which a 29-year-old died after being punched by Veysel. He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for causing bodily harm resulting in death.

Before entering prison he had completed the song Lieben & Hassen . This song caught the rapper arrest warrant when he was looking for new talent for his newly founded label Azzlackz. A short time later he offered Veysel a contract, which the latter signed. He spent his imprisonment working on texts. He also trained as a painter and varnisher in the correctional facility . Tracks and features with Celo & Abdi were created while he was in prison.

After his imprisonment, his first publication appeared in the form of the mixtape 43 Therapy , which entered the German album charts at number 23. Veysel also worked on the remixes of Chabos Know Who Babo Is and Parallels United . A video was also made for the song Angeklagt with the former 187-Strassenbande member AchtVier . His first album Audiovisuell was released in October 2014 . In March 2015 he left the Azzlackz label. In 2017 he played a role in the TV series 4 Blocks , which was produced by TNT Serie . In the same year he founded his own label Bela Boyz; In 2018 he also signed a contract with Universal Music , which took over the distribution for his label.
