Vinyl is an American television series by Terence Winter that was broadcast on HBO from February 14, 2016 to April 17, 2016 . Executive producers included Martin Scorsese , who was involved in Winter's previous projects, Boardwalk Empire and The Wolf of Wall Street , and Mick Jagger . The first broadcast of the German-language dubbed version of the series was from April 7, 2016 to June 9, 2016 on Sky Atlantic .
HBO originally extended vinyl straight to a second season after only one episode aired. Due to creative differences, Terence Winter left the series after the end of season one and gave up his position as showrunner . On June 22, 2016, it was announced that the extension had been withdrawn and that there would be no second season. The series ends after just one season with 10 episodes.
content
The series is set in the music business of the 1970s and revolves around the (fictional) record boss Richie Finestra. His marriage to the model Devon as well as his company "American Century Records" are facing major problems. In the music scene, the styles punk and disco are on the rise and Richie wants to save his record label with a new sound.
Cast and dubbing
The Film & TV sync took over the German dubbing of the series. Rainer Martens directed the dialogue and wrote the dialogue books alongside Jan Odle , Klaus Hüttmann and Markus Engelhardt .
