Vinzaglio ( Piedmontese Vinsàj ) is a municipality with 546 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Novara (NO), Piedmont region .

The neighboring municipalities are Borgo Vercelli , Casalino , Confienza , Palestro and Vercelli .

history

At Vinzaglio and Palestro , at the end of May 1859, during the Second Italian War of Independence, there were battles between Piedmontese and French associations on the one hand and Austrian armed forces on the other. The Austrians were forced to withdraw towards Milan . They suffered a heavy defeat at Magenta .
