Agrate Conturbia ( Piedmontese Agrà e Conturbia , Lombardy Agraa e Cunturbia ) is a municipality with 1572 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Novara (NO), Piedmont region .

The municipality consists of the two districts Agrate and Conturbia. The neighboring municipalities are Bogogno , Borgo Ticino , Divignano , Mezzomerico , Suno and Veruno .

The patron saint of the community is San Vittore.

geography

The municipality is located 25 km from the provincial capital Novara at an altitude of 337 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of ​​14.51 km². The Lago Maggiore is located at a distance of 12 km, the Lake Orta is 18 km away.

Attractions

The most remarkable building in the town is the Romanesque baptistery from the 12th century ( Battistero di San Giovanni ). There is also a castle ruin ( Castello ) from the 11th century, as well as three churches, the Chiesa di San Giorgio (in Conturbia), the Chiesa di Santa Maria in Valle and the parish church Parrocchiale di San Vittore from the 9th century.

There is also a 40  hectare animal park, La Torbiera , in the municipality .
