Vladimir Petrić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Владимир Петрић ; born August 5, 1975 in Valjevo , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian handball player who is mostly used on the right backcourt .

Career

society

The 1.89 m tall and 98 kg heavy left-hander began his professional career at RK Roter Stern Belgrade , with whom he won the 1996, 1997 and 1998 championships and the 1995 and 1996 cup winners of Yugoslavia. In the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 1995/96, he lost in the semifinals to the then Spanish top club TEKA Santander . In the EHF Champions League in 1996/97, 1997/98 and 1998/99 he failed in the group stage. In 1999 he moved to Fotex Veszprém and won the Hungarian NB 1 and the trophy. In the EHF Champions League 1999/2000 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Badel Zagreb . From 2000 he played for FC Porto and secured the championship title in 2002, 2003 and 2004 . In the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2000/01 and 2001/02 , he reached the quarter-finals. In 2005 he moved to the Spanish league ASOBAL , initially for three years at BM Almería and then for one season at BM Cuenca . In 2009 he returned to Portugal. With Sporting Lisbon he was unsuccessful at national level, but with 27 goals he was instrumental in winning the EHF Challenge Cup 2009/10 . A year later they reached the second round of the competition again. Since 2011 he has played for the Macedonian record champions RK Vardar Skopje , with whom he won the cup in 2012 and the championship in 2013. Internationally, he was able to improve from year to year with Vardar. In the EHF Cup 2011/12 they lost to HRK Izviđač in the second round . In the EHF Europa Pokal 2012/13 , SC Magdeburg came into the group phase due to one more goal thrown in addition. Petrić caused a stir with Vardar in the EHF Champions League 2013/14 when he defeated the reigning Champions League winner HSV Hamburg in Hamburg with 30:29 after a 28:28 at home in the second leg and made it to the quarter-finals. There he was subject to SG Flensburg-Handewitt due to the away goal rule . In 2014 and 2015 he won the Macedonian Cup, in 2015 the Macedonian Championship and in 2014 the SEHA League .

National team

Vladimir Petrić he played for the national team of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . At the 1999 World Cup , he won the bronze medal. At the European Championships in 1998 he was fifth, in 2002 only tenth. At the 2003 World Cup , he finished eighth. With the Serbian-Montenegrin national team , he was again fifth at the 2005 World Cup and ninth at the 2006 European Championship . Then he ran for Serbia .
