Vorderberg , in Slovenian Blače , is a village in the Gail Valley in Carinthia . It is a locality and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of St. Stefan im Gailtal in the Hermagor district .

geography

Vorderberg is a row and cluster village in the lower Gailtal and comprises almost 160 buildings with around 410 residents. It is on the right bank of the Gail at the foot of the Carnic main ridge , along the Vorderberger Wildbach , which comes from Poludnig  ( 1999  m above sea level ).

The cadastral community also includes the Vorderbergertal and the mountain area up to the Carnic ridge with Oisternig  ( 2053  m above sea level ) and Sagran  ( 1931  m above sea level ) and the Italian border - but not the rearmost valley, the Egger Alm -See belongs to Egg .

history

It was first mentioned in a document in 1212. In 1914 there was a severe fire in which 42 houses were destroyed.
