Dutch Wonseradeel ) is a former municipality in the province of Friesland ( Netherlands ). It had 11,849 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2010). Since January 1, 2011, Wûnseradiel has been part of the newly formed municipality of Southwest Fryslân .

The administrative seat was Witmarsum , the other places in the municipality were: Allingawier, Arkum, Arum, Atzeburen, Baarderburen, Baburen, Breezanddijk , Burgwerd, Cornwerd, De Blokken, Dedgum, Dijksterburen, Doniaburen, Eemswoude, Engwoude, Exmorra, Exmorrazijl Gaast, Gooium, Grauwe Kat, Harkezijl, Hartwerd, Hayum, Hemert, Hichtum, Hieslum, Idsegahuizum, Idserdaburen, It Fliet, Jonkershuizen, Jousterp, Kampen, Kimswerd, Kooihuizen, Kornwerderzand , Koudehuizum, Lollum, Longerhouw, Makkum , Oosthem, Parrega, Piaam, Pingjum, Rijtseterp, Scharneburen, Schettens, Schraard, Strand, Tjerkwerd, Vierhuizen, Wonneburen, Wons and Zurich .
The places Kornwerderzand and Breezanddijk lie on the closure dike on which the former municipality of Wûnseradiel bordered the municipality of Wieringen in the province of North Holland (district Den Oever ). Around 20 kilometers of the 32 km long dike belonged to Wûnseradiel, the rest to Wieringen.
