- Election to the United States Senate in 1932
- Presidential election in the United States in 1932 : Franklin D. Roosevelt is elected as the Democratic Party candidate for the new (32nd) American President (and remains so until his death in April 1945). The US President Herbert Hoover , who was elected in November 1928, is thus voted out of office.

- April 17th: Referendum in the Free State of Saxony on the dissolution of the Saxon State Parliament . The voter turnout of 38% is below the required quorum of 50 percent.
- April 24: State election in Bavaria in 1932
- April 24: State election in the Free State of Anhalt . The NSDAP becomes the strongest party with 41.67 percent of the votes cast; Alfred Freyberg was elected as the new Prime Minister of the Free State on May 21, 1932 . This makes him the first National Socialist Prime Minister of a country in the Weimar Republic .
