A total of 100 seats

The state and municipal council elections in Vienna in 1932 took place on April 24, 1932. It was the last state election in the state of Vienna in the First Republic. In the municipal council, which was reduced to 100 seats, the Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP) achieved an absolute majority with 66 seats. The Christian Social Party (CS), which started with the Greater German People's Party as a unified list in the last election in 1927 , was able to maintain second place with 19 seats, ahead of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), which won 15 seats , despite losses . The NSDAP received more than seven times as many votes as in the 1930 National Council election in Vienna.

The Vienna state parliament and municipal council for the fourth electoral period was constituted on May 24, 1932. The previous mayor, Karl Seitz , was re-elected by the SDAP members.

The NSDAP gains

Compared to the National Council election in Vienna in 1930, the following people migrated to the NSDAP:

  • 51 percent of voters from the National Economic Bloc and Landbund ( Schoberblock )
  • 39 percent of the voters of the home bloc
  • 25 percent of the Christian Social Party voters
  • 01 percent of the voters of the Social Democratic Labor Party
  • 25 percent of non-voters
