Walterschlag is a locality and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Weitra in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 23 building areas with 10,863 m² and 9 gardens on 4,038 m² in the cadastral community Walterschlag and also in 1989/1990 there were 23 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 78 and in 2009/2010 there were 51 buildings on 78 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 156 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 126 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 150 hectares were used for agriculture and 130 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 147 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 129 hectares. The average soil climate number of Walterschlag is 15.9 (as of 2010).
