The White Stone is a 607 m high ridge in the Vogelsberg , a low mountain range in the middle of Hesse .
geography
The White Stone lies between Bermuthshain and Hartmannshain , two districts of Grebenhain 4 km southwest of the core community. It represents the southeastern extension of the Herchenhainer Höhe , the Völzberger Köpfchen rises from its southeastern slope .
The Rhine-Weser watershed runs over the White Stone . The wooded eastern slope drains into the Weser via Lüder and Fulda . Waters on the western slope, characterized by meadows and pastures, flow into the Rhine via Salz , Kinzig and Main .
The Vogelsberg wind energy park , the oldest German wind park in the low mountain range and at the same time the oldest wind park in Hesse, stretches from the summit area over the western and southern slopes .

The White Stone is accessible with hiking trails and is touched by the Vulkanradweg in the north and by the Vogelsberger Südbahnradweg in the west. The Bermuthshain ski jump is located on the Höllerich ( 575 m ) , a little pronounced crest on the eastern slope of the White Stone . It was inaugurated in 1970, was in use until the early 1980s and has been a listed building since 2003 . In 2006 the take-off table was prepared and made accessible as a viewing platform.
