Wernher Theodor August Friedrich Wilhelm von Quistorp (born December 29, 1856 in Krenzow , Greifswald district ; † July 23, 1908 there ), Dr. jur., was a landowner and Prussian politician.

The Quistorps were a family of scholars in Rostock and Greifswald in the 17th and 18th centuries . Dr. phil. Johann Quistorp from the middle branch of Greifswald was raised to the imperial nobility in 1782 . Wernher was the son of the landowner August von Quistorp (1822–1877), landlord of Krenzow and Zarrentin (both now districts of Rubkow , district of Vorpommern-Greifswald ), farmer and Wehrland (both today districts of Zemitz , district of Vorpommern-Greifswald), and the Emmy Flügge (1831–1901).

Quistorp married on May 21, 1885 on Gut Klanin ( West Prussia ) Marie von Below (* July 8, 1861 on Gut Rutzau, Putzig district , Pommerellen ; † February 20, 1903 in Palermo , Sicily ), the daughter of the owner of the goods Rutzau and Schlatau Gustav von Below (1821–1871) and his wife Eleonore Melitta Behrend .

His daughter Emmy (1886–1959) married the landowner and later Reich Minister Magnus Freiherr von Braun (1878–1972) in 1910 . Both were the parents of the rocket engineer and space pioneer Wernher Freiherr von Braun (1912–1977).

Life

Wernher von Quistorp studied law and political science at the universities in Göttingen, Bonn and Berlin. In 1877 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen , in 1878 he joined the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he entered the Prussian civil service, but soon devoted himself exclusively to the management of his manor. He was a royal Prussian cavalry master , landlord on Krenzow and Zarrentin and knight of honor of the Order of St. John .

From 1894 to 1905 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Grimmen-Greifswald. In 1904 he became a member of the Prussian manor house on presentation of the old and fortified property in the rural district of Neuvorpommern and Rügen . He was a member of the district council, the district committee and the Chamber of Agriculture. In addition, he was chairman of the Pomeranian State Cooperative Fund and the Anklamer Purchasing and Sales Association.
