West Bath is a town in Sagadahoc County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 1,877 inhabitants in 1,116 households on an area of ​​38.85 km².

West Bath was organized as an independent town on February 14, 1844, previously the area belonged to the area of ​​the later City Bath. The area was known as Long Reach and part of the town of Georgetown. The separation from Georgetown took place in 1791.

The area was first settled in 1739. Joseph Berry built several mills in the Mill Cove District, the center at that time. Sawmills and grinding mills, a log house and a tavern were built. More settlers followed and settled in the area. Most of the time, the settlers use the waterways to travel.
