Westport is a town in Fairfield County in the US -amerikanischen State Connecticut with 26,391 inhabitants (2010). The geographical coordinates are: 41.12 ° North, 73.35 ° West. The urban area has a size of 86.3 km².

Westport is on the Saugatuck River and is bordered to the west and north by the towns of Norwalk and Weston , to the east by Fairfield and to the south by Long Island Sound .
traffic
The Interstate 95 runs through the city. Directly north of it, Route 126 crosses the river over the Saugatuck River Bridge , which the city built in 1884. A little further north, US Highway 1 also crosses the river.
Westport has two train stations ( Westport and Greens Farms ) which are served by the Metro-North Railroad .

Westport is the seat of the hedge fund Bridgewater Associates and the construction machinery manufacturer Terex .
