history

The Wiedrechtshauser is the oldest of the Uttendorfer Höfe and has existed since 1333. It belonged to the Millstatt Monastery in the Middle Ages .
He had such extensive grounds and was so rich that in the 19th century he was called "the Pinzgau three kings" together with the Fellern and Enzinger . In 1867,
Karl von Sonklar reported on a mountain tour of the "Wiedrechtshausener farm [...], which looked like a small village with its farm buildings", and that he "commanded over 35 servants, over half a dozen maids, over 200 cows and 2000 sheep in round numbers. ”Around 1870 the old Pinzgauer family Deutinger is still mentioned as resident. Today the property is owned by the Renn family, who run an organic farm and a small power station there.

Sights and nature

There is a baroque chapel near the property in Wiedrechtshausen. It has an octagonal structure based on the image of the Chapel of Grace in Altötting and was donated and built in 1722 by farmers Adam Deutinger and Barbara Enzinger. Another special feature is a sundial that is dated to 1530. It is painted on wood and shows Uttendorf solar time , as well as the local times of Madrid, Paris, London, Vienna, Constantinople (Byzantium) and Jerusalem. In terms of design, the estate - like Fellner and Enzinger - is a group courtyard , so these three original courtyards clearly set themselves apart from the Pinzgauer Paarhof , which is otherwise common here .

A few kilometers south, after Schneiderau, the Hohe Tauern National Park begins .
