history
The SC Wiener Viktoria was founded in 1947, but refers to the sports and sociability club Renz , which was founded in 1931 , later SC Rio , which was dissolved again in 1939. The first 60 years were spent in the Vienna House of Commons without any notable success. In the 1996/97 season they took part in the preliminary round of the ÖFB Cup , where they failed at SV Langenrohr .
The 2007/08 season ended eighth in the fifth-class league . In the 2008/09 season they were one point behind champions 1. Simmeringer SC runner-up in the Oberliga A. In the 2009/10 season they finished seventh. Viktoria finished fourth in the 2010/11 season. For the 2011/12 season the record scorer of the Austrian national team , Toni Polster , took over the coaching position at Viktoria. Under Polster's leadership, the club was able to become champions with a lead of twelve points over the Union Mauer and thus rise to the Vienna City League. In addition, they won the Toto Cup that season , which meant they qualified for the ÖFB Cup in the following season.
In the first round of the Cup , they defeated SV Grün-Weiß Micheldorf , which is also fourth class , and in the second round they won against second division Kapfenberger SV on penalties. In the last sixteen they were eliminated after a defeat against Bundesliga club SV Ried . In the Vienna City League they were able to become champions that season with eight points ahead of Post SV Wien and thus march through to the Regionalliga Ost . After this success, coach Polster left the club and took over the Bundesliga club FC Admira Wacker Mödling .
His successor was former national player Andreas Reisinger , who was to lead Viktoria into the first regional league season. In that season they also took part in the Cup again, but where they failed in the first round at SK Austria Klagenfurt , which is also third-class . In January 2014, they separated from Reisinger. Toni Polster then returned to Viktoria after he had already been dismissed from Admira in August 2013. After a season in the regional league, the club rose again at the end of the 2013/14 season in the city league, they had ended the season six points behind a non-relegation place in 13th place.
In the 2014/15 season they finished twelfth in the fourth-highest division. The 2015/16 season ended in seventh place. In the 2016/17 season they finished eighth; In that season they lost an away game against SV Wienerberg 24-0 , the club started with youth players and players from the reserve so that the players of the first team could prepare for the Toto Cup final against ASK Elektra Vienna . The final against Elektra was still lost. In the 2017/18 season they finished tenth in the city league, and they lost again in the final of the Toto Cup, this time against FV Austria XIII .
In the 2018/19 season you could again become champions of the city league and thus move up to the regional league a second time. In the 2019/20 season they took part again in the ÖFB Cup , where they defeated Bundesliga club TSV Hartberg on penalties in the first round .
