history

To the north of the Spitzkunnersdorfer Niederdorf was a Vorwerk belonging to the Spitzkunnersdorf manor in the Wiesenbachtal . In 1663 the Spitzkunnersdorfer manor was attached to the manor Hainewalde . In 1790 the von Kyaw family had the Wiesenthal Vorwerk demolished and the new Wiesenthal settlement built on its corridors . The settlers had to pay five talers for one of the bushel- sized construction sites .

A windmill was built on the Pfaffenberg around 1845 and was demolished in 1909. The single standing former windmill house was preserved.

In 1840 Christian Friedrich Weber set up a trading post in Wiesenthal , and in 1845 he founded the first mechanical weaving mill in the Spitzkunnersdorf area. In 1875, 300 hand and house weavers and five dyers worked for CF Weber.

After the Spitzkunnersdorf community had acquired the Spitzkunnersdorf manor from Moritz Joachim Ernst von Kyaw in 1927, they swapped building land on Wiesentalstrasse and had numerous other houses built there. The CF Weber company became semi-public in 1956 and later switched its production to artificial leather.

Wiesenthal always belonged as a district to the municipality of Spitzkunnersdorf, which was incorporated into Leutersdorf in 1998.

Today, two companies work in Wiesenthal that emerged from the former VEB Kunstlederwerk Spitzkunnersdorf in the 1990s : CF Weber GmbH produces technical textiles, BFB Textilkonfektionsgesellschaft mbH awning fabrics .
