Willi Rodekurth (born May 31, 1948 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Rodekurth played in the youth team of Kickers Offenbach , where he also made the leap into the youth team of the DFB. At Kickers, he continued his success story in the senior division and made his debut under coach Kurt Baluses on February 11, 1967 in a 0-1 away defeat at SSV Reutlingen in the then second -rate regional football league South . Until the end of the round, he was used in twelve league games with two goals in winning the regional league championship . The technically talented midfielder joined players such as Rudolf Wimmer , Hermann Nuber , Josef Weilbächer , Engelbert Kraus and Gerd Becker in the subsequent Bundesliga promotion round against the competition from Alemannia Aachen, 1. FC Saarbrücken, Göttingen 05 and Tennis Borussia Berlin seven other missions in which he also scored two goals. Behind the newcomers Aachen - with Josef Martinelli , Erwin Hermandung , Erwin Hoffmann , Herbert Gronen , Alfred Glenski - it was only enough for second place.

He managed in the 1967/68 season , after the second place was occupied in the Regionalliga Süd, promotion to the Bundesliga . In the promotion round, Rodekurth completed all eight games in which the Kickers prevailed against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , TuS Neuendorf , Tennis Borussia Berlin and SV Arminia Hannover . There were five wins and one defeat, and there were also two draws. In the 1968/69 season he completed 15 Bundesliga games. He made his debut on August 24, 1968 in a 2-1 home win in front of 33,000 spectators on the Bieberer Berg under coach Paul Oßwald against defending champion 1. FC Nuremberg in midfield in the Bundesliga. At the end of the season, the Kickers were relegated from the Bundesliga as bottom of the table despite the newcomers Dieter Koulmann , Hans Nowak , Peter Werner , Janos Kondert and Helmut Siber . In 1969/70 Rodekurth tied his shoes for Offenbach in the regional league for another year, but only made five league appearances when he won the championship under coach Zlatko Čajkovski - he had a total of 41 regional league games with four goals and 15 games in two Bundesliga promotion rounds with two goals for the OFC completed - and then moved to Switzerland for FC Biel-Bienne .

In December 1972 he returned to Germany and signed a contract with 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 in the Regionalliga Süd. There he played until 1976. For Schweinfurt he completed 45 regional league games and 53 games in the 2nd Bundesliga . The 1974/75 season in the 2nd Bundesliga South was outstanding . While the eleven from the Willy Sachs Stadium in 1973/74, in the last year of the old second-rate regional league, were only able to occupy 15th place, the green-whites under coach István Sztani consistently played for the championship in the debut year of the 2nd Bundesliga . Wolfgang Dramsch in goal, Wolfram Thaumüller , Dieter Stosberg , Dieter Pöhnl and Gert Brunnhuber in defense, in midfield with Willi Rodekurth, Horst Raubold , Harald Aumeier and Rainer Skrotzki , as well as in attack with the two goalscorers Lothar Emmerich and Werner Seubert (both each 16 goals) surprisingly took third place, two points behind champions and Bundesliga promoted Karlsruher SC . In the following year, 1975/76 , however, he was relegated to the amateur camp. He then signed on to 1. FSV Mainz 05 , but only played one game with the zero five.
