Willy hemp

Willy Hanft (born December 8, 1888 in Hanover , † July 19, 1987 in Nuremberg ) was a German painter .

Life

From 1908 to 1913 he attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy with professors Adolf Männchen , Willy Spatz and Dietrich. 1920 to around 1940 presumably studios in Dresden (the Dresden district of Blasewitz was the birthplace of his first wife Gertraude, née Schwertfeger) and Düsseldorf. Judging by the landscape motifs, working in many places, especially in the Alpine region. Often incorrectly referred to as having died in 1943. 1945–1952 freelance work in Dresden, from July 1952 residence in the Hanoverian Oststadt . Widowed in 1977, married Wilhelmine Meyer from Zirndorf in 1979 . In May 1983 he moved to Nuremberg, where he died on July 19, 1987.

His main subjects were landscapes or views, as well as still lifes with flowers. In terms of painting technique, he preferred oil painting .

Willy Hanft participated regularly in the Great German Art Exhibition between 1938 and 1944 .
