Willy von Haeseler

Willy Karl Heinrich Martin Gottlieb von Haeseler (born October 13, 1841 at Gut Brookhusen ; † March 4, 1927 in Schwerin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Haeseler von Haeseler came from the Mecklenburg line, which was raised to imperial nobility in 1801 , of a family living in Goslar in the 16th century . He was the eldest son of Wilhelm von Haeseler (1810–1887) and his first wife Auguste, née Koester (1816–1841), who died just 18 days after Willy was born. Haeseler married Cäcilie von Oertzen (1843–1919) on July 4, 1873 in Schwerin.

In 1856/57 Haeseler was a cadet in the 1st company of the cadet house in Potsdam . After his takeover in the Prussian Army he was a. a. from January 15, 1887 to June 15, 1891 commander of the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment No. 2 . Haeseler then commanded the 8th Cavalry Brigade in Erfurt until May 1895 .

In 1902, Haeseler was accepted into the Mecklenburg knighthood as a landlord on Vilz (824 hectares , today part of Ticino ) . After the First World War , from 1919 until his death, he was the 5th commander of the Mecklenburg Cooperative of the Order of St. John . For over 30 years Haeseler was a member of the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology and a long-standing member of the administrative board of the Bethlehem Abbey in Ludwigslust .

Both Haeseler and his wife Cäcilie are both buried in Vilz.
