Is located on the northwestern edge Winkl with an area of about 860 hectares , the largest cadastral the city Kapfenberg ( Styria ).
The majority of the headquarters of Böhler-Edelstahlwerke is located in the area of the cadastral community of Winkl. Despite the industrial part, two thirds of the district are forested, with the highest point of Winkl at 1163 m above sea level. NN is on the Frieslingberg . From 1795 to 1885 coal was mined in Winkl . However, the production was stopped because of the low productivity of the seam . Around 20 percent of the local area is still used for agriculture, but the proportion of residential construction is increasing.
