Vladislav Gennadjewitsch Juschakow ( Russian Владислав Геннадьевич Южаков , English Vladislav Yuzhakov * 25. January 1985 in chusovoy ) is a Russian luger .

Career

Wladislaw Juschakow has been a luge since 1997. The student has been competing in the World Cup with his partner Wladimir Machnutin since the 2006/07 season . In the overall ranking they reached 19th place, the best individual result was twelfth place in Sigulda . In the first race of the 2007/08 season they were 13th. At the end of the season they finished 15th in the overall World Cup standings.

The 2009/10 season ended Yushakov with his partner in 14th place overall. Both of them achieved this placement at the 2010 European Luge Championships in Sigulda . In the following year both were able to improve significantly and were eighth in the overall ranking. At the Luge World Championships 2011 in Cesana Pariol , they just missed the medal ranks and ended up fourth. The following season 2011/12 ended Yuschakow and Machnutin in sixth place in the overall standings, before both finished fifth at the Luge World Championships 2012 in Altenberg and won the silver medal with the team relay. Shortly afterwards, they won the gold medal with the team relay at the 2012 European Luge Championships in Paramonowo .

The 2012/13 season ended with 11th place overall. At the 2013 World Luge Championships in Whistler , both finished eighth. A short time later, at the 2013 European Luge Championships in Oberhof , both finished tenth and won bronze in the team relay.

In the 2014/15 season there was no longer Machnutin, but Vladimir Prokhorov Yushakov's double partner. They reached 6th place overall. During the following season, Yushakov changed partners again and has been driving with Yuri Prokhorov ever since . The greatest success of the doubles and at the same time in Yushakov's career was winning the team relay title alongside Tatiana Iwanowa and Semyon Pavlitschenko at the 2019 Luge World Championships in Winterberg .
