The village of Wohnroth is part of the local community of Bell in the Kastellaun community . It is located in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in the Rhein-Hunsrück district , Rhineland-Palatinate .

The village of Wohnroth is located on a hillside at the beginning of the Wohnrother valley that ends at Balduinseck Castle . The place can only be reached via country and district roads from the Hunsrückhöhenstraße, which is about 5 km away.

history

Wohnroth is mentioned for the first time in 1220 in the so-called Liber annalium of the Archdiocese of Trier.

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops in 1794 , the place became French, and in 1815 the Congress of Vienna decided to reorganize the areas and to assign Wohnroth to the Kingdom of Prussia . The village has been part of the newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .

Since March 17, 1974, the place belongs to the local community Bell.
