The village of Völkenroth is part of the local community Bell in the association community Kastellaun . It is located in the low mountain range of the Hunsrück in the Rhein-Hunsrück district , Rhineland-Palatinate . Völkenroth was an independent municipality until 1974.

history

Völkenroth was first mentioned in 1310 in the Sponheim slope register of the county of Sponheim .

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops , the place became French, in 1815 the Congress of Vienna decided to reorganize the areas and Völkenroth was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia . The village has been part of the newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .

Since March 17, 1974, the place belongs to the local community Bell.
