Wolbórz has been a town in the powiat Piotrkowski of the Łódź Voivodeship in Poland since 2011 . It is the seat of the town-and-country municipality of the same name with 7783 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

geography

Wolbórz is located in the eastern part of the voivodeship. The district town of Piotrków Trybunalski (Petrikau) is about 20 kilometers to the southwest. Neighboring towns are the villages Świątniki, Bogusławice and Krzykowice in the north, Studzianki-Kolonia and Dębina in the east, Modrzewek, Żarnowica Mała and Polichno in the south and Psary-Lechawa, Psary Witowskie and Młynary in the east. Without exception, they belong to the urban-and-rural parish .

The rivers include the 48.8 kilometers long Wolbórka and its tributary Moszczanka. The area around the city is characterized by agriculture . Of the area of ​​the municipality, 62 percent will be used for agriculture and 28 percent for forestry.

January 1, 2011 Wolbórz received the 1870 after the January Uprising of 1863 but knew, city rights again and the church got its current status.

The current municipal area belonged, interrupted by the German occupation during the Second World War , from 1919 to 1975 to the Łódź Voivodeship with different layouts. - The German minority was expelled after the World War. - Wolbórz was the seat of Gmina Bogusławice , which was divided into Gromadas in 1954 .

On January 1, 1973 the rural community Wolbórz was founded. From 1975 to 1998 she came to the Piotrków Voivodeship . The powiat was dissolved during this time. Since 1999 the municipality has belonged to the Łódź Voivodeship and the Powiat Piotrkowski current layout, which were newly formed.
