Wolfgang Dremmler (born July 12, 1954 in Salzgitter ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
societies
The trained fitter played in his youth for TSV Watenstedt , TSV Hallendorf and SV Union Salzgitter , before he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig in 1973 in the Regionalliga Nord . From the 1974/75 season his time as a midfielder began in the Bundesliga , in which he only played for two clubs. From 1974 to 1979 for Eintracht Braunschweig (138 games - 9 goals) and from 1979 to 1986 for FC Bayern Munich (172 games - 6 goals).
He made his Bundesliga debut on August 30, 1974 (2nd matchday) in the 0-2 defeat in the away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern with a substitution for Bernd Gersdorff in the 86th minute. With FC Bayern he was German champion four times ( 1980 , 1981 , 1985 , 1986 ) and three times DFB Cup winner ( 1982 , 1984 , 1986 ).
On May 31, 1984 he forced extra time in the DFB Cup final against Borussia Mönchengladbach with his goal in the 83rd minute. After goalless extra time, FC Bayern Munich won the final 7: 6 on penalties , with Dremmler converting his penalty to 5: 5.
In the 1985 DFB Cup final, which was lost 2-1 to Bayer 05 Uerdingen , he was shown the red card in the 48th minute for gross foul play by referee Werner Föckler .
National team
Dremmler wore the national jersey for the first time on September 2, 1975 in Augsburg in the 2-0 victory of the B national team against the national team of Austria, when he was substituted on for Caspar Memering . From 1981 to 1984 Dremmler completed 27 international matches for the senior national team, with participation in the 1982 World Cup in Spain and second place being the footballing climax for him. He played his last international game on February 29, 1984 in Brussels in a 1-0 win over the host national team of Belgium .
After the active time
In 1986 he ended his career as a player because of an injury and then worked as a coach for various clubs. Dremmler worked for 17 years as chief scout and head of the game / player monitoring department at FC Bayern Munich. His first transfer was Carsten Jancker . In August 2012 he became head of the club's youth performance center. He retired after the 2016/17 season.
