Wolfgang Mocker
Wolfgang Mocker (born May 2, 1954 in Plauen ; † July 24, 2009 in Berlin ) was a German aphorist and journalist .
Life
Wolfgang Mocker was born in 1954 as the youngest of three children in Plauen in Vogtland . After graduating from the Workers 'and Peasants' Faculty in Halle (Saale) in 1972, he studied until 1974 turbine in Wrocław and after completed basic military service from 1976 to 1979 history and German in teaching at the PH "Karl Liebknecht" . He did not complete both studies. After several short-term auxiliary jobs, from the beginning of 1981 Mocker worked as a salaried editor of the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel . In December 1981 Mocker, who had lived in Potsdam since 1976 , moved to Teltow . He had successfully completed the distance learning course in journalism in Leipzig , which began in 1983 . From 1992 Mocker, who had moved to Berlin in the summer of 1988, was a freelance journalist; however, he continued to write for Eulenspiegel . On July 24, 2009 Mocker died of a heart attack .
During his studies in Potsdam Mocker met Viola Petschick, whom he married in 1979. The marriage remained childless.

Mocker, who came to aphorism as a lyric poet in the 1970s and exchanged letters with Erwin Strittmatter in the 1980s , named Lichtenberg , Kraus and Lec as aphoristic role models. His aphorisms, the number of which is estimated at around 2,000, are more concise and sharper than those of historical and contemporary authors. In addition, Mocker mainly wrote glosses and satires. He published in daily newspapers ( Lausitzer Rundschau , Sächsische Zeitung ), magazines, literary magazines , street papers and in ten anthologies .
