Wolfgang Zach (artist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wolfgang Zach (* 1949 in Bremen ) is a German draftsman and object artist .

Live and act

Wolfgang Zach studied computer science from 1969 to 1972 at the University of Karlsruhe and from 1972 to 1977 at the Karlsruhe Art Academy with Horst Egon Kalinowski and Günter Neusel .

In the 1970s he created bicycle objects and kinetic wire objects. Since the early 1980s, he has primarily been developing computer-generated drawings using his own programs. In 1987 he built a flatbed plotter from industrial components and wrote software for it that enables line drawings with artist pens. The basis of his image motifs include aerial photos from ESA and satellite images of landscapes, which he gives an abstract character.

Wolfgang Zach was 1st Chairman of the Bremen Association of Visual Artists from 2003 to 2018 .

Zach lives and works in Bremen.
