The Wolseley 16/45 was a mid- range car that Wolseley brought out in 1927 as the first six-cylinder car with an overhead camshaft.

Only in model year 1931 was there a more powerful version of the 16/45 hp called the Wolseley Viper . The otherwise identical car was equipped with two SU carburettors, while the 16/45 hp had only one.

In 1933 the almost identical Sixteen replaced the 16/45 hp.
