Location of Ziegelstadel in Bavaria

Ziegelstadel is a district of the Altmannstein market in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

location

The settlement, now two farms, is located in the Jura on the western edge of the Hienheim Forest and thus on the border between the Eichstätt district and the Kelheim district . The next village is the Altmannstein district of Tettenwang to the west .

history

The brick barn for the production of bricks, located by a pond, belonged to the parish village of Tettenwang, first mentioned in a document in 1060.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806), Tettenwang and with it the brickworks came to the Riedenburg district court and rent office; around 1830 the parish village had 49 houses plus the brick barn. A brickworks and lime kiln existed here until 1930. After that, the district consisted of two agricultural properties. On May 1, 1978, Tettenwang and with it the hamlet of Ziegelstadel was incorporated into the Altmannstein market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , which came with the regional reform from the - dissolved - Upper Palatinate district of Riedenburg to the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt.
