The Bulgarian A Professional Football Group ("А" Професионална футболна група) or A PFG ("А" ПФГ) is the top division of Bulgarian football. It determines the champion of Bulgaria. 16 teams take part in the division, each playing twice against every other, once home and once away. The Championship of Bulgaria exists under various names since 1924 and is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League.

The champion of Bulgaria has the right to take part in the UEFA Champions League from the stage allowed by the league's coefficient. The teams that finished second and third take part in the UEFA Cup together with the Bulgarian Cup winner.

^ The team of PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad (as distinct from Pirin 1922) disbanded shortly after the start of the season due to financial problems, reducing the number of teams for the 2005/06 season to 15. Due to this, only two teams instead of three were relegated in 2005/2006 and one team rested every round. Games with PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad were not counted for the standings.
