Spice Girls concert chronology

The Return of the Spice Girls is the forthcoming Spice Girls' comeback concert tour as a five-piece group. The tour starts on December 2, 2007 in Vancouver, Canada.[1] The creative director for the tour is Jamie King, who worked on tours by the likes of Madonna and Christina Aguilera. The costumes will be designed by Roberto Cavalli.

General information

At a press conference confirming the group were to tour again, the Spice Girls stated that they would sing songs from their third album Forever, and that Geri Halliwell (who had left the group before they made this album) will sing parts in these songs, as well.

On August 3, the Spice Girls announced that Toronto would be the official Spice City. A show date has been set for 3rd and 4th February, 2008. Toronto received more votes than Rio de Janeiro - which came close in second place, Baghdad, and the Australian city of Alice Springs. [2]

On 1 October 2007 the Spice Girls sold out their comeback show in London this Christmas in 38 seconds, according to BBC Radio 1. The reformed girl band are due to play the O2 Arena in December, with over one million people said to have registered for the ticket ballot.

On September 30, the successful applicants for the Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver and London concerts were informed of how they could purchase their tickets, via email and text alerts, prompting a fan stampede. The frenzy alarmed fans from other destinations as they are still awaiting their emails regarding purchasing tickets. The band have now added seven further dates in London, one in Las Vegas and one in Los Angeles.

On October 1, it was announced on the official Spice Girls Website that the Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires dates would be re-scheduled due to high demand for UK and U.S. dates. The extra London dates scheduled for early January 2008 are likely to force these other destinations to have their concerts later than previously stated.

On October 16 Melanie C announced on British Television programme This Morning that the group were hoping to announce dates in the North of the UK, most likely being Manchester. On 18th October, Melanie C announced that the Spice Girls will be performing at the MEN Arena in Manchester on 23rd and 24th January 2008, as part of their World Tour.

Tickets left after the fan presale went on sale to the general public on October 6, for London, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver and Cologne.

On the morning of 20 October, 2007, those specially registered ahead of time received an email with one date in New York and two in New Jersey. Later that night another email was sent to those who successfully registered, stating that two more dates (one in New York and the other in New Jersey) would be taking place. On 21 October, 2007, those who successfully registered for the Toronto date were sent emails with a code. That concert date sold out in under a minute.

On October 23rd the Spice Girls announced 4 new shows in the US. Two in Massachutes (1 Boston, 1 Wencoster)and two in Chicago.
