Sadly, Orca Airways had a fatal crash on March 8th, 2006. One pilot perished and one survived with major injuries. It was a cargo flight originating in Vancouver, upon landing in high winds the aircraft (PA-31 Piper Navajo) went off the end of the runway, went down a small hill and came to rest approximately 300 feet from the end of the runway. Sadly, twenty seven year old Jason Ouellette lost his life in the accident.

Orca Airways is a small Vancouver, Canada based airline operating a fleet of 5 Piper Navajo aircraft from the South Terminal at YVR Vancouver International Airport

It currently operates flights from Vancouver to Tofino on Vancouver Island, as well as charter operations.
