(23437) Šíma is an asteroid of the main inner belt . It was discovered on September 27, 1984 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov .
The asteroid was named on November 14, 2016 after the French painter of Czech descent Josef Šíma (1891–1971). Šíma is one of the most important representatives of surrealism and later abstract painting after the Second World War .
