Åke Carl Magnus Bergqvist (born August 29, 1900 in Ronneby , † March 7, 1975 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish sailor .

successes

Åke Bergqvist, who for the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet sailed, was in 1932 in Los Angeles at the Olympic Games in the 6-meter class Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the boat Bissbi , led by skipper Tore Holm , which won all six races and thus took first place ahead of the only other two boats. The Americans finished all races in second place, the Canadians finished third. In addition to Bergqvist, Olle Åkerlund and Martin Hindorff belonged to the crew of the Bissbi , which belonged to Åkerlund's father Erik.
