Martin Hindorff, who sailed for the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet , took part in four Olympic Games in the 6-meter class . In 1932 he immediately became Olympic champion on his Olympic debut in Los Angeles . He was a crew member of the boat Bissbi , led by skipper Tore Holm , which won all six races and thus took first place ahead of the only other two boats. The Americans finished all races in second place, the Canadians finished third. In addition to Hindorff, Åke Bergqvist and Olle Åkerlund were part of the Bissbi crew , which belonged to Åkerlund's father Erik. Four years later he sailed at the games in Berlin under Sven Salén on the May Be and scored 62 total points with two wins in seven races. The May Be , of which the rest of the crew consisted of Lennart Ekdahl , Torsten Lord and Dagmar Salén , finished the regatta that took place in the Düsternbrook Olympic harbor in Kiel in third place behind Great Britain and Norway.

Hindorff also won bronze at the 1948 Olympic Games in London . With the Ali-Baba II he secured third place behind the US and Argentine boats together with skipper Tore Holm and Karl-Robert Ameln , Torsten Lord and Gösta Salén . In 1952 he sailed again under Sven Salén on the May Be VII , but this time just missed another medal win as fourth.
