Andreas Bang Brecke (born September 14, 1879 in Fredrikstad , Østfold , † June 13, 1952 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian sailor and Olympic participant in the Summer Olympics in Stockholm and Antwerp .
Brecke became Olympic champion in the 8-meter class in 1912 with the Norwegian boat Taifun . The crew of the boat consisted of Brecke, Thoralf Glad , Thomas Aass , Torleiv Corneliussen and Christian Jebe . There were seven boats in this competition, two from Finland, two Russian and two Swedish, only one from Norway. Typhoon won both rounds on July 20 and 22, 1912 on the coast off Nynäshamn .
Eight years later he became Olympic sailing champion for the second time. This time he won the 1919 6-meter class with the boat Jo . Only two yachts took part. In the first race, the Norwegian boat Jo could not start because of a damage to her top mast, while the Belgian boat Tan-Fe-Pah sailed the course. But Jo won the last two races and thus the gold medal.
