Æneas Mackay the Younger
Æneas Baron Mackay d. J. (born November 29, 1839 in Nijmegen , † November 13, 1909 in The Hague ) was a Dutch politician of the ARP .
Mackay came from an originally Scottish family, studied law in Utrecht from 1856 to 1862 , became a judge in Zutphen and in 1876 a member of the Second Chamber of the States General . In April 1888 he became Dutch Prime Minister (more precisely: Chairman of the Council of Ministers) and at the same time Minister of the Interior, then in 1890 Minister of Colonialism. In August 1891 he resigned to make room for Gijsbert van Tienhoven's cabinet . He was also President of the Second Chamber from 1884 to 1885 and from 1901 to 1905, and one of the leaders of the anti-revolutionary party.
