Dirk Fock
Dirk Fock (born June 19, 1858 in Wijk bij Duurstede , † October 17, 1941 in The Hague ) was a Dutch politician .
Dirk Fock was a leading liberal statesman. He was a lawyer ( mr .: meester in derechte; title for a law degree from a Dutch university) and a state politician.
After completing his studies, he worked as a public prosecutor in the Dutch East Indies from 1880 to 1898 .
In 1901 Fock came to the Second Chamber for a Rotterdam district (comparable to the German Bundestag ). His area of responsibility included colonial affairs.
From 1905 to 1908 he was Colonial Minister , from 1908 to 1911 Governor of Suriname and from 1921 to 1926 Governor General of the Dutch East Indies.
Fock remained politically active into old age. In 1928 he was awarded the honorary title of Minister of State .
