Pieter Gerardus van Overstraten

Pieter Gerardus van Overstraten (born February 19, 1755 in Bergen op Zoom , Netherlands ; † August 22, 1801 in Batavia (now Jakarta ), formerly the Dutch East Indies ) was Governor General of the Dutch East Indies from 1796 to 1801 .

He was the last Governor General of the Dutch East India Company , which was dissolved due to the bankruptcy in 1799 . However, he was able to keep his office when the Dutch state took control of the territories of the East Indian Islands.
